The Harley Street Fertility Centre is one of the leading specialist Centres for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, with the latest in technological advances. Our centre provides the latest treatment techniques, including IVF, ICSI, Laser Assisted Hatching, Testicular tissue freezing, Blastocyst culture, Frozen Embryo Replacements. Our multidisciplinary team of Fertility specialists includes Dr Rajat Goswamy, the Medical Director, who has been providing these treatments since 1982 in UK, Qualified and experienced Fertility nurses, High-tech Laboratory, Counselling staff and administrative staff, each dedicated to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient. This approach to personalised care guarantees that our staff knows and understands each patient’s medical history and clinical needs, better enabling them to tailor fertility treatment to the finest possible outcome.
Our Staff
Dr Rajat Goswamy, MBBS, FRCOG
Pioneer of vaginal ultrasound, and performed the first ultrasound directed egg collection procedures in the UK, initially using abdominal ultrasound, and later using vaginal ultrasound techniques.
Initially set up IVF Centres at King’s College, London, and the Hallam Medical Centre, London. Then worked as Deputy Medical Director under Dr Patrick Steptoe, the pioneer of IVF, in Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge.
He has trained many specialists worldwide and published scientific articles extensively, in Medical journals and textbooks, in the past 33 years.
Frequent speaker at International meetings on topics related to Infertility, Ultrasound and Endoscopic surgery.
One of the pioneers of Medical Tourism in Mauritius, in 2002.

Awards and Achievements
- Admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, July 1995.
- Set up the first Ovarian Cancer screening unit in the world, funded by a research grant from the Cancer Research Campaign, at King’s College Hospital, London in 1982.
- Pioneered abdominal ultrasound oocyte retrieval (1982), Vaginal ultrasound, Vaginal ultrasound oocyte retrieval (1986) in the UK.
- Published pioneering papers in outpatient IVF, Ultrasound Screening for Ovarian Cancer, normal values for postmenopausal ovaries, uterine and ovarian blood flow studies in fertile volunteers and infertile women, recurrent miscarriage research involving Doppler ultrasound studies and hysteroscopy, the role of LH in lowering fertilization rates and increasing early miscarriage rates. Numerous publications on Ovarian Cancer Screening, reasons for IVF failure, Ultrasound techniques and Endoscopic correlations.
CLINICAL STAFF
Dr. Sarafaraz Nawaz G Salgar - MBBS. MS. DNB (OBG)
Dr. Sarafaraz Nawaz G Salgar joined our team at HSFC in December 2020 as Consultant Gynecologist and Obstetrician.
He qualified from MR Medical College, RGUHS University, Karnataka, India and obtained his Postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MS) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, MANIPAL University & also DNB in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
He has a Fellowship in Obstetric ultrasound and prenatal fetal screening. He is highly experienced and now provides a service for Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT), 3 D nuchal scans, 3 D structural (fetal anomaly) scans, and Doppler studies for high-risk pregnancies, at HSFC,
He is trained in Advanced Hysteroscopic & Laparoscopic surgery and has been performing these procedures since 2012 in various hospitals in India, Nigeria and Kenya before joining our team in 2020.
He is experienced in Infertility practice and has been performing IVF treatments since 2015.
With him as a key member of our team we are now able to provide a comprehensive “Conception to Cradle” service which includes preconception advice and investigations, fertility enhancing surgery, fertility treatments, non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), antenatal care and delivery.
Dr Purvarshi GOWREESUNKUR (MBBS, MD) - Clinical Assistant
Dr Purvarshi graduated from Guangxi Medical University, China in 2015, with a Master’s degree in Obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr Purvarshi returned to Mauritius and did her internship at Victoria Hospital and worked in Clinique du Nord & Link to Life.
She has authored and co-authored several research articles such as Lipid changes & effect of diet therapy in gestational diabetes mellitus & normal pregnancy, Influence of iron-deficiency anaemia during pregnancy on preterm birth and decreased endometrial vascularity and receptivity in unexplained recurrent miscarriage.
During her training, Dr Purvarshi has shown special interest in fertility medicine.
She has been shadowing Dr Goswamy for a long time, before joining the HSFC team in 2020 as Clinical Assistant.
Dr Purvarshi assists patients efficiently and with empathy through each step of the treatment process.
Dr Deepti Beekoo (MBBS, MD) - Clinical Assistant
Dr Deepti joined our team at HSFC in January 2023 as Clinical assistant. She completed her post-graduation from Wenzhou Medical University, China in 2019 with a master’s degree in Anesthesiology.
On her return to Mauritius, she completed her internship at Victoria Hospital, Candos where she acquired further expertise and skills.
She will attend to your care throughout your fertility treatment with counselling and support. She has blended well into the team, has a caring personality and is always willing to help patients and colleagues.
Francesca Comarmond - Manager
Francesca joined the team in May 2021.
With more than 25 years of experience in the Hospitality and Service Management at Air Mauritius.
She is now responsible for overseeing and managing the team at HSFC. She is attuned to patients’ emotions and meets with every patient to make sure that their experience at HSFC is a positive and peaceful one.

Sweetie Laljee - PA/Admin Secretary
Sweetie joined Harley Street Fertility Centre in February 2009 as Secretary / Receptionist and has past experience in Customer service and in Administration.
In March 2020, Sweetie was promoted as Personal Assistant to the Medical Director and Administrative Secretary.
She assists patients for all queries pertaining to cost and insurance procedures.
"I have always had an interest in working in a private clinic and being a part of helping others start their journey to parenthood is a great opportunity".
She will take the utmost care to make sure that patients have a pleasant experience at HSFC.
Karinne Poleevadoo - Receptionist
Karinne joined the Harley Street Fertility Centre in September 2020 as Receptionist. She is the front desk smile greeting patients at the reception and on the phone.
Karinne arranges the appointments and any investigations that need to be made prior to bookings.
Every day at HSFC is a new challenge for Karinne. She is attentive to all queries and rejoices when patients call with good news. She is caring, helpful and has a positive attitude.

LABORATORY STAFF
Mr. Gaurav Gondane Senior Embryologist
Mr. Gaurav Gondane , an adept Senior Embryologist joined the Harley Street Fertility Centre in May 2024.
Holding a degree in Biotechnology, Mr. Gondane has extensive experience in the field of in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
His expertise and commitment to advancing reproductive medicine make him a valuable asset to the Harley Street team.
Mr. Abhinav Dudeja - Senior Embryologist
Mr. Abhinav Dudeja joined HSFC in June 2024 as a Senior Embryologist, bringing over 6 years of expertise in the IVF industry.
He holds a postgraduate degree in Clinical Embryology and Pre-Implantation Genetics from the University of Mysore, Karnataka, India.
Mr. Dudeja is highly skilled in techniques such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection and Pre-Implantation Genetics Diagnosis.
He has co-authored chapters and published numerous research papers in reputed journals.
His role at HSFC is pivotal in maintaining exceptional standards and enhancing pregnancy rates in the IVF lab.
